Before you learn about what your typical skin care routine should be, learn what skin type from below you have. You may possibly have characteristics from more that one of the skin types below.
Normal Skin
Normal skin has characteristics such as normal pores and has a
smooth texture. Normal skin, may at times get very oily, but mostly is nor oily
nor dry.
Oily Skin
Oily skin has an oily and shiny complexion and makes the skin look
dull. Side effects of oily skin include pimples, coarse pores and blemishes
which may begin to look embarrassing as they may leave scars. This skin type is
caused by over-active sebaceous glands which produce a natural healthy skin
lubricant known as sebum. Excessive sebum is what causes the skin to react by
producing pimples, blemishes and makes the skin more prone to blackheads.
However, this does not mean that your oily skin does not need daily moisturise.
Dry skin can be caused by low levels of sebum production giving
the skin a patchy look which is caused by the skins inability to absorb and
retain moisture. The skin may be cracky and chap and look dehydrated. Dry skin
can look and feel tight and may be painful, especially after washing your face.
You may feel a little comfortable as soon as you apply some facial moisturising
cream.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin has pores and sensitivity as the skin can
easily react to foreign particles. Sensitive skin may flush, feel sore and
react to facial products, so investing in products for sensitive skin should be
considered.
Sun Damaged Skin
by fine and coarse wrinkles and
roughness. The skin appears loose and lacks elasticity as the damage advances.
Skin tone near the cheek area will change and may lose colour and begin to look
yellowish.(SkinCare)
